Sending via modplugin.org
From PluginWiki
This is an easy way to send from the -owner address of your group.
Contents |
Why do this?
It has a number of advantages over posting via Yahoo.
- You can CC and BCC, including to another group.
- You can edit the recipients in the To field.
- It reduces the chances of getting 999 errors, where Yahoo blocks you.
How do I configure it?
First, you'll need Access Keys for each group you moderate. If you don't have those, get them now.
Then go to Features->Mail Options, and select the modplugin.org option.
That's it - you're done.
You might also want to set up Recording Moderator Messages.
What will the message look like?
Send a test post from yourself and reject it to see.
It'll come from the -owner address of your group.
Can I CC to another Yahoo group?
Yes - see here.
Can I change the address it comes from?
No - Access Keys are verified by a mail to the -owner address, so it only shows you can use that address. To send from another address you'll need to set up Sending by Email.
Does modplugin.org keep a copy?
Not of the whole message. The only thing that's kept is a record of the "from" and "to" addresses in the mail server's logs, for 30 days. This is standard for any email server. This log is only accessible to Edward and Nigel, and is only accessed for problem diagnosis or abuse analysis.
