Sending by Email
From PluginWiki
By default the plugin will post its messages via Yahoo - which is what you're used to if you've moderated without the plugin.
However, you can configure the plugin to send in two other ways. The simple alternative is Sending via modplugin.org, for which you need an access key. But if you have your own email account (e.g. with gmail), you might want to send through that. This has a number of advantages.
To do this, you will need to have Java installed. See Install Java if you don't have it.
What you should do depends on which kind of email account you want to use.
- Sending mail from an existing account
- Sending mail from a gmail account
- Sending mail from a Yahoo account
- Sending mail from a Hotmail account
- Sending mail from an AOL or Aim Email account
Then you should look at Differences when sending by email.
Once you've got it working:
- You might want to look at Sending mail from the -owner address.
- If you want to do something fancy, have a look at Advanced sending by email. The most likely thing you might want to do is to set Reply-To.
If you have problems, see Troubleshooting sending by email.
