Checking For Updates
Firefox checks for updates approximately every 24 hours, usually when you restart it. It will then place an update button next to your plugin in the list of plugins in the usual way if one is available.
Click on "Tools" and then "Extensions" to open up the plugins window.
If an update is available you will see a button next to ModPlugin (previously called freecycleedinburgh) as shown below. If you have no update button but know that the plugin has indeed been updated (for example from a post by Edward on the Moderation Group) then you can click on the "Find Updates" button in the lower right and Firefox will look for the update.
If an update is available Firefox will say so:-
Now restart Firefox and you will see a dialogue box similar to this one:-
Wait for the timer to finish and then click on the "Install Now" button.
After Installing
New releases often have new function, as well as bug fixes. Sometimes this new function is enabled by default, but sometimes it isn't (for example, if it would slow things down). The Release Notes will tell you if you need to turn on new function.
