Maps
From PluginWiki
The plugin will try to show little maps of the locations in posts. This helps you see if posts are within your area or not.
These maps can't be perfect, so some of them will be wrong. But most should be right.
You can configure this from Features->Map Options:
You'll see this:
Here's what these mean:
- Disable Maps allows you to turn this off if you don't want to see it.
- If a group has the Member Plugin configured, then that may have map configuration specific to that group. By default, the plugin will use this to find the locations - but if for some reason you want it not to, you can select Don't use Member Plugin options even where configured?
- Map Zoom is the google zoom level for the map displayed. You'll need to tweak this depending on how big your group area is. You can also tell it to keep the map centre'd,
- Map Width and Map Height control the size of the map.
- Default map search hint is a way to help the map find your locations. If you just moderate one group, you can put in the area or town of your group. If you moderate multiple groups, then...tough, unless you have the Member Plugin configured for those groups.
- Known locations is a way to help the plugin spot locations - if you put them in here, separated by semicolons, then it will help it find the location even if the subject line format is a bit strange.
Maps will be shown like this:
The map might sometimes be too small to enable you to see where things are. If you click on the map, a new tab will open in Google Maps to show the location.
